Consumer Directed Care

Quality Health Care has adopted consumer directed care (CDC) principles across all of its home care services. Consumer directed care is a way of providing services that allows individuals to make choices about the types of services they want, and who should provide them. The government has included CDC principles in Aged Care laws (User Rights Principles 2014) to ensure older people’s rights are protected.

The six principles are:

  1. Consumer choice and control

  2. Rights

  3. Respectful and balanced partnerships

  4. Participation

  5. Wellness and re-ablement

  6. Transparency

We are 100% committed to these principles and when working with clients we ensure that all clients are encouraged to identify their goals, determine how much involvement they would like in managing their package, choose the way services are provided and by whom and have regular contact with us to assess whether supports are effective, or a person’s needs have changed. We are strong advocates of the consumer directed principles and each of our services are individually tailored to meet the needs and wants of the clients we assist, in an environment that is caring, friendly and supportive.

Our team is genuine about who they are and what they can do. We respect your decisions and choices and we are respectful when providing support to make sure you feel comfortable and confident with us. We are always careful to make sure your views are taken into account and your wishes are respected.
