About The House

Located in Mortdale this service is in a quiet tree lined street close to transport, cafes and local amenities. Mortdale has a village-like feel with a vibrant community offering everything from a butcher who serves up the Sunday roast, to the local pizzeria and hairdresser. The 5 villas are modern, spacious and fully accessible and the clever design offers a good mix of private spaces and communal areas for socialising. Mortdale and Penshurst train stations are within walking distance and Westfields at Hurstville is a short bus ride away. Inspire is an active and busy service that focuses on capacity building and skill development to enable residents to move into more independent living, if desired. The service is well equipped and offers a communal living area and a large outdoor entertaining area with a BBQ and comfortable lounges. Other features include;

  • The current residents are male and female

  • All residents are verbal

  • Each resident has their own network, interests and activities that they pursue individually with the support of staff

  • There are opportunities for residents to socialise and engage in special events in the house and/or in the community if preferred

  • Mortdale staff use an active support approach in their daily living and household activities

  • Mortdale adopts a person-centred approach and staff are skilled in positive behaviour support, skill development, tasks of daily living, trauma informed practice, mental health and drug and alcohol
